General Hours of Work:  Monday – Fridays (Dayswith some weekend, eveningnight and call time involvement)

Avel eCARE is seeking an experienced and strategic Project Management Director to lead and advance the organization’s project management practices and governance. This full-time leadership role is responsible for overseeing the project initiation and approval process and ensuring the consistent application of project management standards across the organization. The Project Management Director will guide PMO strategy, support cross-functional collaboration, and drive successful delivery of strategic and technical initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, organizational insight, and the ability to mentor project management and quality teams while ensuring projects are executed efficiently, aligned with organizational goals, and deliver measurable results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expands and directs the project initiation and approval process to ensure utilization of standard project management principles and processes.
  • Develops, evaluates, and implements PMO, Quality Assurance, and Standards strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Manages the relationship between business partners, vendors, information systems, and project management to develop, escalate, and implement solutions.
  • Reviews post-implementation project results to understand the impact of tests, changes, and outcomes and makes recommendations to improve results in future programs.
  • Defines and implements new processes based on identified inefficiencies, gaps, or industry best practices.
  • Develops and manages measurement strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation and productive team performance using project milestones, key performance indicators, risk and exposure analysis, success rates, financial impact, and timeline commitments.
  • Works with Avel leaders to identify and clearly define recommendations for initiatives that align with current strategies, organizational requirements, and market trends.
  • Mentors and coaches project managers and quality teams to drive successful project management, quality outcomes, and product delivery.
  • Guides project managers, quality analysts, and standards coordinators through system implementations, upgrades, strategic initiatives, and technical initiatives.
  • Serves as liaison among internal and external clients, business units, and development teams to ensure effective project coordination among participating groups.
  • Reviews and evaluates information on project status, changes, and issues; identifies potential sources for solutions; and contacts appropriate parties to initiate action.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required. 
  • Seven years related experience and/or training. 
  • Management experience is required.  

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:   

  • PMP or equivalent preferred.  
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, and that the employee is insurable by the Avel automobile liability insurance carrier.  Exceptional departmental needs may be considered to waive the valid driver's license requirement.
