Job Title: Vice President and General Manager - Acute Inpatient 

Location: Remote (With the ability to travel monthly) 

Department/Unit: Clinical 

Reports To: Chief Operations Officer 

Status:  Full-Time (Exempt) 

Hours: Monday-Friday (Evening and weekend as needed) 


Job Summary:

Avel eCare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President and General Manager to lead its Acute Inpatient services, including ICU, Hospitalist, and Senior Care. This senior leadership role will be responsible for driving strategic, operational, clinical, and financial objectives, aligning them with eCare's mission and vision. The position requires a strong leader adept at managing cross-functional teams, overseeing clinical policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in building successful teams, developing and executing strategic plans, and improving patient care through data-driven decision-making. This role involves travel and collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance the integration of eCare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-range plans supporting the mission and vision of Avel eCare, while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist in budgeting and manage departmental expenses to meet financial objectives. Establish operational systems for maximum resource utilization and financial performance.
  • Team Management: Direct hiring, training, and evaluation of staff. Develop staffing plans, productivity models, and oversee third-party staffing contracts.
  • Operational Excellence: Review and implement operating policies, procedures, and plans for Avel eCare services. Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Customer Collaboration: Partner with customers to continuously refine processes, improve patient care, and meet quality and safety goals.
  • Quality and Improvement: Lead quality plans and drive process improvements, focusing on patient care outcomes and service excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with various departments such as IT, Marketing, Product Innovation, and Business Development to support service success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (Required)
    • Master’s degree (Preferred)
  • Experience:
    • 5-10 years of leadership experience in Acute Inpatient settings (Preferred)
    • Proven experience in staff development, budgeting, and financial oversight.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid driver’s license and insurability by Avel Health’s automobile liability insurance carrier.
